Western Broncos Football had a by week this week. They play again November 15th against Eastern Michigan at Waldo stadium at 2pm.
Western won against Miami University of Ohio in a 42 to 10 victory.
That’s six games now.
Bronco Hockey played at Denver Friday where they lost in a 4 to 5 defeat but came back Saturday and had a 6-3 victory.
Friday night the Bronco hockey team was out shot by Denver University with Denver taking 35 shots and the Bronco’s taking 28 shots at the goal for the night. Saturday was a better day for the Broncos where goalie Frank Slubowski has a season-high record of 35 saves and Kyle Novak scored three of the six points.
College basketballstarted last week Tuesday with exhibition against Spring Arbour, which the bronco basketball team won in 96 to 57 victory. Their other exhibition game against Kalamazoo College that was yesterday was a 81 to 32 victory.
All of the 14 dressed players saw playing time at the Kalamazoo College game. Senior David Brown and Junior Jared Klein both had 12 points a piece and leading the team. 11 of the points where contributed by senior Austin Richie and 10 of the points by sophomore Tucker Haymond. Hopefully the boys can keep up good work coming into the real season.
Next we have men’s soccer that played against West Virginia Saturday in a 1 to 2 loss against West Virginia. It was their last game before the Mid-American Conference tournament.
We also have the women’s soccer team that lost their semifinal game in the MAC tournament at Northern Illinois in a 0-1 defeat. That will finish the season for the women’s soccer.
Now that we have moved over to Women sports we also have the Western Broncos female Basketball team that started this past Saturday. They had a 91 to 55 victory against Purdue Calumet that was a pre-season exhibition game.
Junior Forward Jessica Jessing had 19 point and 13 rebounds. Jessing led five Broncos in double figures. Lastly we have women’s volleyball. They lost all three games against Northern Illinois this past Thursday. They play again this Friday against Eastern Michigan.
